CCTV describió el desarrollo como «un avance para China en infraestructura informática para la investigación científica impulsada por IA, lo que ayudará al país a tomar las posiciones dominantes en las aplicaciones industriales de IA».

Los investigadores chinos se han enfrentado durante mucho tiempo a desafíos en la investigación de «IA para la ciencia», incluida la escasez de potencia informática, limitaciones de software y la dependencia de proveedores extranjeros para herramientas clave, según el periódico oficial Beijing Daily.
