La Guardia Civil confirma reuniones de su directora con Leire Díez

El Ministerio del Interior ha confirmado que Leire Díez se reunió dos veces con la directora general de la Guardia Civil, Mercedes González.

La Dirección General del Instituto Armado ha emitido un comunicado en el que reconoce los encuentros, contradiciendo al ministro Fernando Grande-Marlaska, quien días antes había negado categóricamente que las reuniones hubieran tenido lugar.

Según el comunicado, el primer encuentro se produjo tras el nombramiento de González en septiembre de 2024. Díez solicitó una reunión en una cafetería cercana a la sede de la Dirección General en Madrid para una toma de contacto laboral, que duró unos 15 minutos y no abordó asuntos del Cuerpo.

En un encuentro posterior, Díez pidió a González la rehabilitación del comandante Rubén Villalba, implicado en el caso Koldo. La directora rechazó la petición de plano y dio por finalizada la conversación. La Guardia Civil asegura que González jamás ha interferido en ninguna investigación.
