Candidato excluido pide suspender elecciones para rector de la Usach

La Universidad de Santiago de Chile (Usach) inicia este miércoles las elecciones para nuevo rector, tras la anulación en noviembre pasado de la elección de Rodrigo Vidal por el Tricel. Un académico rechazado, Bruno Jerardino, solicitó a la Corte de Apelaciones de Santiago una orden de no innovar para congelar el proceso. Hasta el momento, no hay respuesta judicial y la votación con tres candidatos sigue adelante.

En noviembre de 2025, el Tricel anuló la elección de Rodrigo Vidal como rector de la Usach por excluir a profesores del padrón electoral. El tribunal ordenó nuevas elecciones, que comienzan hoy con tres candidatos en la papeleta: Pedro Palominos, Andrea Mahn y Cristián Muñoz.

Cinco académicos intentaron inscribirse, pero solo tres fueron aprobados tras reclamaciones. Bruno Jerardino, uno de los excluidos, presentó una orden de no innovar ante la Quinta Sala de la Corte de Apelaciones de Santiago, argumentando su derecho a participar. Sin resolución hasta ahora, la primera vuelta avanza.

Pedro Palominos, ingeniero civil industrial y ex prorrector, propone cuatro ejes: formación, investigación, vinculación y responsabilidad. "No llegamos hasta aquí para transformar lo posible, sino para construir lo que aún está por venir", indica en su programa.

Andrea Mahn, vicedecana de Ingeniería, enfatiza gobernanza, probidad y excelencia. "Nuestro compromiso es conducir con reglas claras, decisiones fundadas en evidencia y participación triestamental efectiva", afirma. Cristián Muñoz, ex prorrector de Vidal, busca fortalecer la carrera académica y la igualdad de género bajo siete ejes.
