Gobierno investiga a 37 organismos por irregularidades en fotomultas

El Gobierno Nacional abrió una investigación administrativa contra 37 organismos de tránsito por posibles fallas en los sistemas de fotomultas. Las autoridades detectaron incumplimientos de requisitos técnicos establecidos por ley.

La Superintendencia de Transporte y el Ministerio de Transporte detectaron que varios organismos iniciaron operaciones sin el concepto de desempeño del Instituto Nacional de Metrología. Doce lo hicieron sin este requisito, siete usaron conceptos emitidos a terceros y 18 lo obtuvieron después de empezar a funcionar.

Las ciudades involucradas incluyen Medellín, Cali, Bogotá, Barranquilla, Cartagena y Bucaramanga. Los organismos emitieron más de 7,5 millones de comparendos, de los cuales 1,58 millones ya fueron pagados por valor superior a 1,05 billones de pesos.

La ministra de Transporte Mafe Rojas afirmó que las fotomultas no pueden usarse como mecanismo de recaudo fuera de la ley. El superintendente Alfredo Piñeros agregó que ninguna cámara puede operar sin cumplir los requisitos técnicos y jurídicos.
