Máximo Pacheco anunció este lunes su renuncia al directorio de Novandino Litio, horas antes de dejar la presidencia de Codelco. En una carta dirigida a su sucesor Bernardo Fontaine, Pacheco citó presiones partidistas como motivo de su decisión.

Pacheco, quien presidía el directorio de la alianza entre Codelco y SQM desde enero, justificó su salida para evitar una controversia. “No quiero motivar una odiosa controversia, por el bien del país, de nuestro querido Codelco y de todo el valor que representa la magnífica empresa que hemos creado”, escribió en la misiva.

El ejecutivo también se despidió de Codelco mediante un video, recordando su ingreso a la empresa en 1990. “Partir es morir un poco”, citó del poema de Edmond Haraucourt.

El biministro Daniel Mas valoró la decisión y llamó a una nueva etapa marcada por la excelencia en la gestión de Codelco. Pacheco agradeció al expresidente Gabriel Boric por su confianza durante su gestión.
