Senador Velásquez presenta reforma constitucional para fiscalizar a Codelco

El senador Esteban Velásquez presentó una reforma constitucional para permitir que la Contraloría General de la República fiscalice a empresas estatales como Codelco.

La iniciativa surge tras una auditoría interna de mayo que detectó una sobrevaloración de casi 27.000 toneladas en la producción informada por Codelco para 2025.

Velásquez, del partido FRVS y representante de la Región de Antofagasta, afirmó que las cifras fueron infladas para pagar bonos a ejecutivos y trabajadores. El proyecto busca complementar las revisiones jurídicas y financieras con auditorías técnicas y de trazabilidad operacional.

El senador señaló que Codelco es la principal empresa del Estado y que su impacto afecta las finanzas nacionales. Propuso crear una unidad especial dentro de la Contraloría si es necesario.

El proyecto ya fue dado cuenta en sala y pasó a la Comisión de Constitución del Senado.
