Descubren un suelo medieval en un granero de Gagnef

Un suelo de madera bien conservado de la década de 1280 ha sido hallado en un granero junto a la iglesia de Gagnef. El sacerdote y dendrocronólogo Torbjörn Axelsson realizó el descubrimiento durante sus investigaciones.

El suelo proviene de la iglesia medieval de Gagnef. Axelsson tomó muestras de los troncos y confirmó que datan de finales del siglo XIII. Señaló que la mayoría de los suelos de esta época se encuentran en museos o iglesias, por lo que este ejemplo permanece excepcionalmente bien conservado.

En la década de 1770, el suelo fue retirado de la iglesia porque no encajaba con la nueva bóveda, que requería columnas. Posteriormente fue reutilizado en un granero cercano, donde permaneció oculto hasta ahora.

El hallazgo aporta nuevos detalles sobre el pasado de Gagnef. Axelsson destacó que, aunque los registros escritos son escasos, la madera ofrece un contexto concreto y una mayor comprensión de la historia de la zona.
