Juan Carlos Nieto, de 56 años y funcionario del Servicio Público de Empleo Estatal en Mérida desde hace 15 años, ha sido objeto de un procedimiento sancionador. El pasado miércoles, alrededor de 300 vecinos se concentraron frente a la oficina del SEPE en la calle Baviano para mostrar apoyo. La protesta, organizada por el sindicato 25 de Marzo y el Campamento Dignidad, incluyó recogida de firmas y peticiones de dimisión para sus superiores.

Nieto ha declarado que seguirá atendiendo a los ciudadanos como parte de su trabajo. El Ministerio de Trabajo indica que el expediente incluye otros motivos confidenciales, mientras que el Defensor del Pueblo ha solicitado explicaciones al ministerio.
