Casi 10.000 hongkoneses han recibido la residencia permanente en el Reino Unido bajo la vía de visado para ciudadanos británicos de ultramar (BN(O)). El Ministerio del Interior británico publicó el jueves estadísticas actualizadas que muestran un total de 9.804 concesiones de residencia hasta la fecha.

Las cifras cubren el periodo desde que comenzó el programa en enero de 2021. Del total, 8.682 concesiones fueron otorgadas en los 12 meses finalizados en marzo de 2026.

El Ministerio del Interior británico declaró: “Desde que comenzó el programa, se han producido un total de 9.804 concesiones de residencia permanente a personas cuya estancia más reciente fue bajo la ruta BN(O), con 8.682 concesiones emitidas durante el último periodo de 12 meses [finalizado en marzo de 2026]”.

Los titulares que completan cinco años de residencia pueden solicitar un permiso de estancia indefinida. Este estatus les permite vivir, trabajar y estudiar en el Reino Unido de forma indefinida y solicitar la ciudadanía británica tras un año adicional.
