Decenas de miles de manifestantes recorrieron las calles de Madrid este domingo para exigir la regulación de los alquileres y denunciar los abusos de rentistas y especuladores.

La manifestación, convocada por el Sindicato de Inquilinas bajo el lema “La vivienda nos cuesta la vida”, partió desde la estación de Atocha hacia la zona de Sevilla. Los organizadores estimaron la asistencia entre 80.000 y 100.000 personas, mientras que la Delegación del Gobierno cifró la participación en 23.000.

Los manifestantes reclamaron contratos de alquiler indefinidos, una bajada del 50% en los precios de los alquileres y un salario mínimo y pensiones de 1.500 euros. Según el sindicato, los alquileres en Madrid han subido más de un 50% en los últimos cinco años y muchas familias destinan más del 70% de sus ingresos al pago de la renta.

La portavoz Alicia del Río instó a la “desobediencia” como herramienta legítima contra lo que denominó “la dictadura del rentismo”. La marcha contó con la presencia de líderes sindicales como Unai Sordo y Pepe Álvarez, así como de Irene Montero y representantes de Comisiones Obreras y UGT.
