Si Baste Duterte, bagong pangulo ng PDP-Laban

Ininaugurasyon ni Mayor Sebastian “Baste” Duterte bilang bagong pangulo ng Partido Demokratikong Pilipino-Laban ng Bayan (PDP-Laban) sa Davao City noong Sabado, na pumapalit sa kanyang ama na si dating Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte. Nangyari ito habang si Rodrigo Duterte ay nakakulong sa International Criminal Court sa The Hague.

Sa Davao City, Philippines, nagtanong ng panunumpa si Mayor Sebastian “Baste” Duterte bilang bagong pangulo ng PDP-Laban sa harap ni Al Cusi, ang bise-pangulo nito. Kasama sa mga dumalo sina Sen. Bong Go, si dating kalihim ng Department of Budget and Management na si Wendel Avisado, at abogado na si Raul Lambino.

Inaasahan na susuportahan ng partido ang kandidatura ni Bise Presidente Sara Duterte para sa pagkapangulo sa 2028 na halalan pambansa.

Samantala, hinirang din si Mayor Duterte na mamuno sa Reform Alliance for Good Governance and Accountability (RAGE) Coalition, na inilunsad noong nakaraang araw sa San Juan. Ang koalisyon na binubuo ng PDP-Laban, Partido Reporma, at Reform PH ay naglalahad ng sarili bilang “united front” upang itaguyod ang pananagutan, ipagtanggol ang demokratikong proseso, at tugunan ang mga urgent na isyu sa bansa.

“We have to communicate with each other as (a) united front moving in positivism and service for the people. Always remember that whatever happens I am always here for you, Mayor Baste Duterte of Davao City,” pahayag ni Baste Duterte. Sinabi rin ng koalisyon na sinusuportahan ito ng “more than 600 parallel groups nationwide.” Kabilang sa mga pumirma sa manifesto sina Go, dating mga kongresista na sina Pantaleon Alvarez at Mike Defensor, at dating kalihim ng Executive Secretary na si Vic Rodriguez.
