Natanggap na ni Bise Presidente Sara Duterte ang imbitasyon mula sa House committee on justice upang dumalo sa hearing nito noong Marso 25 tungkol sa mga impeachment complaint laban sa kanya, ayon sa kanyang legal counsel. Gerville Luistro, na nag-imbita kay Duterte na dumalo ng personal sa 10 a.m. hearing sa People’s Center Building, House of Representatives, Quezon City noong Marso 25. Tatalakayin rito ang ground rules at initial hearing sa mga reklamo na nagdadawit kay Duterte ng betrayal of public trust at culpable violation of the Constitution. Naghain ng mga reklamo si Fr. Joel Saballa, na sinuportahan ni Rep. Leila de Lima, at lawyer Nathaniel Cabrera, na inendorso nina Reps. Bienvenido Abante Jr. at Paolo Ortega V. Tatalakayin din ang pending motions, posibleng subpoenas, at resource persons para sa mga susunod na hearing noong Abril 14, 22, at 29. Hindi sinabi ni Poa kung dadalo si Duterte. “Our dilemma is how do we rebut if we cannot even cross-examine the witnesses the complainants will be presenting to test the credibility of their testimonies,” sabi niya sa isang TV interview. Ayon naman kay Manila 3rd District Rep. Joel Chua, maaaring ito ang unang full public presentation ng ebidensya. Tinanggihan naman ng mga lider ng Kamara ang alegasyon ng Navotas Rep. Toby Tiangco na may bribery sa anyo ng funding allocations para suportahan ang impeachment. “Ano daw kapalit? Wala akong alam na kapalit… I’ve been working on this… to come up with an orderly proceeding,” ani Luistro sa joint statement kasama si Chua.
