Indonesia and India prepare seven to eight MoUs during Modi visit

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Jakarta on July 6, 2026, and was welcomed by President Prabowo Subianto. The two countries are preparing to sign up to eight memoranda of understanding in education, health, and technology during the visit that runs until July 8.

Foreign Minister Sugiono stated that seven to eight MoUs will be discussed and signed during the state visit. The sectors covered include education, health, and technology development.

Modi landed around 17:20 WIB at Halim Perdanakusuma Air Base. He was welcomed directly by Prabowo with a handshake, a guard of honor, and six gun salutes.

Sugiono added that a bilateral meeting between the two leaders is scheduled for July 7, 2026. Modi's visit also includes a planned trip to Prambanan Temple related to cultural cooperation.

This is Modi's second visit to Indonesia after his trip in 2018.
