Inihayag ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. ang pagtatalaga kay dating Philippine National Police chief Nicolas Torre III bilang bagong general manager ng Metropolitan Manila Development Authority.

MANILA, Philippines — Inihayag ng Presidential Communications Undersecretary Claire Castro na inihalal ni Pangulong Marcos si Nicolas Torre III, dating chief ng Philippine National Police, bilang general manager ng Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA). Ang pagtatalagang ito ay nagkukumpirma sa pagtitiwala ng administrasyon sa karanasan ni Torre sa serbisyo publiko at pagpapatupad ng batas.

Sa isang pahayag, sinabi ng MMDA na sila ay lubos na sumusuporta sa desisyon ng Pangulo. 'Ang MMDA ay nagpapahayag ng buong suporta sa desisyon ni Pangulong Marcos Jr. sa kanyang tiwala kay Gen. Torre, na ang malawak na karanasan sa serbisyo publiko at pagpapatupad ng batas ay inaasahan na lalong palakasin ang mandato ng MMDA sa pamamahala ng trapiko at kaligtasan publiko, at iba pa, sa buong Metro Manila,' ayon sa ahensya.

Dagdag pa, sinabi ni MMDA Chairman Romando Artes na si Torre ay 'welcome addition' at magiging 'big help' sa ahensya. Nanatiling komitado ang MMDA sa kanilang misyon ng pagtiyak ng ligtas, mahusay at maayos na mobility at pag-unlad sa Metro Manila kasama ang pagtatalaga kay General Torre.

Ang pagtatalagang ito ay inaasahan na magdudulot ng pagpapahusay sa operasyon ng MMDA sa gitna ng mga hamon sa trapiko at urban development sa kalakhang lungsod.
