Tottenham have reached an agreement to sign Portuguese midfielder Mateus Fernandes from West Ham for a reported fee of £85 million. The 21-year-old is expected to complete the move in the coming days.
The deal makes Fernandes Tottenham's fifth signing of the summer transfer window. He follows free-agent arrivals Andy Robertson, Martin Dubravka and Marcos Senesi, plus defender Jan Paul van Hecke who joined from Brighton for £52 million.
Fernandes featured in all but two of West Ham's Premier League matches last season. He recorded three goals and four assists before the team was relegated on the final day.
The midfielder previously suffered relegation with Southampton and moved to West Ham for £38 million in August 2025. Manchester United had also been linked with the player.
