Si Manases Carpio, asawa ng Bise Presidente Sara Duterte, ay magsasampa ngayong araw ng mga kasong kriminal laban sa gobernador ng Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, pinuno ng Anti-Money Laundering Council, at ilang mambabatas dahil sa umano'y pagbulgar ng mga bank records. MANILA, Philippines — Naglabas ng pahayag si Manases Carpio kahapon na magsasampa siya ngayong araw sa Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office ng mga reklamo laban kina BSP Governor Eli Remolona Jr., AMLC Executive Director Ronel Buenaventura, House justice committee chairperson Batangas Rep. Gerville Luistro, Mamamayang Liberal party-list Rep. Leila de Lima, at Akbayan Reps. Chel Diokno at Percival Cendaña.

Sinabi ni Carpio na nagkasabwatan ang mga ito upang magbulgar ng confidential banking records na pinoprotektahan ng RA 9160 (AMLA), RA 1405 (Bank Secrecy Law), at RA 10173 (Data Privacy Act). Ayon sa kanya, walang eksepsiyon ang pagiging confidential ng mga ito upang mapanatili ang seguridad ng sistemang pampinansyal. Idinawit din niya ang Section 8A ng AMLA na nagbabawal sa anumang pagbulgar ng bank reports sa AMLC.

Ang mga leak ay nagpakita ng transaksyon, insurance payments, time deposits, investments, at utility bills na nauugnay sa kanya at sa kanyang asawa. Tinawag ni Carpio itong 'diabolical' na ginagamit para sa black propaganda at political harassment laban sa Duterte family para sa 2028 elections.

Samantala, sinabi ni Manila 3rd District Rep. Joel Chua na 'documents don’t lie, people do,' habang tumutukoy sa hindi pagde-declare ni VP Duterte ng P6.7 bilyon na transaksyon sa kanyang SALN, na nagmula lamang sa P7.5 milyon noong 2007 hanggang P88.5 milyon noong 2024. Akbayan Rep. Chel Diokno naman ay tinawag itong 'smoking gun' para sa impeachment. Pero sinabi ni Ako Bicol Rep. Alfredo Garbin Jr. na walang awtoridad ang House justice committee na magbulgar ng bank accounts.
