Le DENR s'associe à la PUP pour permettre aux « Estero Rangers » d'obtenir un diplôme universitaire

Les agents chargés de l'entretien des rivières et des canaux du DENR commencent leur travail avant l'aube pour nettoyer les voies navigables de la baie de Manille, tout en poursuivant des études universitaires grâce à un partenariat avec la Polytechnic University of the Philippines.

Selon le DENR, 144 personnes se sont inscrites au programme d'études destiné aux « Estero Rangers », qui offre un apprentissage flexible via l'Open University de la PUP. Cela permet aux agents de travailler à temps plein tout en étudiant. Le secrétaire à l'Environnement, Juan Miguel Cuna, a déclaré que cette initiative soutient la directive du président Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. sur la protection de l'environnement et le développement durable. « Alinsunod sa direktiba ni Pangulong Bongbong Marcos na tutukan ang pangangalaga sa kapaligiran at isulong ang sustainable development, siniguro ng DENR na matugunan ang pagbibigay ng suporta sa mga tagapangalaga ng kalikasan katulad ng mga estero rangers », précise le communiqué. Les « Estero Rangers » Jose Marie Santos, Jeferson Bondoc et Christine Joy Salvador ont partagé leurs expériences. Ils ont évoqué les difficultés rencontrées durant la pandémie, la priorité accordée au travail et le désir de devenir une source d'inspiration pour leur famille en terminant leurs études.
