Les ventes de logements existants aux États-Unis ont atteint leur plus haut niveau de l'année en mai. Cette progression fait suite à une hausse plus modeste enregistrée le mois précédent.

Les ventes de logements existants ont progressé de 3,2 % en mai, pour atteindre un rythme annuel corrigé des variations saisonnières de 4,17 millions d'unités. La National Association of Realtors a rapporté cette augmentation, qui succède à un gain de 0,7 % en avril. Le prix médian d'un logement existant s'est établi à 429 300 dollars en mai. Il s'agit de la quatrième hausse mensuelle consécutive et du niveau le plus élevé depuis juin dernier. Le taux hypothécaire fixe à 30 ans s'élevait en moyenne à 6,44 % en mai, selon Freddie Mac. Ce taux est le plus haut enregistré depuis août dernier.
