Kinetica 1 rocket places eight satellites into orbit

CAS Space launched its Kinetica 1 rocket from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center on Monday morning, successfully placing eight remote-sensing satellites into orbit.

The mission marked the 14th flight of the Kinetica 1 series and China's 42nd space launch this year. The rocket lifted off at 11:44 am.

The satellites feature high-resolution optical remote-sensing capabilities, covering panchromatic, blue, green, red and near-infrared bands, and support stereoscopic and agile imaging.

The Kinetica 1 rocket measures 30 meters in length, 2.65 meters in diameter and has a liftoff weight of 135 tons. It can place a combined satellite mass of 1.5 tons into a 500-kilometer sun-synchronous orbit.

CAS Space has now deployed 105 satellites weighing more than 15 metric tons using the model, maintaining the top market share in China's commercial launch sector.
