Manuela Martelli réussit ses débuts à Cannes avec El deshielo

La cinéaste chilienne Manuela Martelli a présenté jeudi son deuxième long métrage, El deshielo, lors du Festival de Cannes 2026. Le film a reçu une chaleureuse ovation de la part du public dans la salle Debussy.

Martelli a présenté ce film qui se déroule en 1992 et suit l'amitié entre une fillette chilienne de dix ans et un skieur allemand dans une station de ski des Andes. L'histoire explore la disparition de la jeune femme et des secrets de famille enfouis.

La réalisatrice a souligné le travail accompli par toute l'équipe. « C'est très gratifiant d'avoir le film ici. Et c'est aussi très gratifiant pour tous ceux qui ont travaillé sur ce film, qui l'ont fait avec du sang, de la sueur et des larmes », a déclaré Martelli.

La productrice Alejandra García a souligné que les applaudissements étaient longs et magnifiques. Le film, produit par Ronda Cine, Wood Producciones et des partenaires internationaux, fera l'objet de projections supplémentaires le vendredi 15 mai et le samedi 16 mai.
