Le NPA fait appel des ordonnances du magistrat de Kwaggafontein

L'Autorité nationale des poursuites pénales (NPA) du Mpumalanga a déposé une demande d'autorisation d'appel contre des ordonnances pour outrage au tribunal et un mandat d'arrêt émis à l'encontre du procureur de l'État, Mkhuseli Ntaba.

Cette décision fait suite à l'absence de M. Ntaba à l'audience visant à contester une demande de libération sous caution dans une affaire d'extorsion et de blanchiment d'argent impliquant l'homme d'affaires et patron de taxi Joe Sibanyoni, ainsi que trois coaccusés. Le directeur national des poursuites pénales, l'avocat Andy Mothibi, a constitué une équipe juridique dirigée par un conseiller principal pour définir la marche à suivre après que l'affaire a été rayée du rôle. Le porte-parole du NPA, Kaizer Kganyago, a déclaré que l'appel suspend l'exécution des ordonnances jusqu'à ce que la demande soit examinée, et que les motivations écrites du magistrat ont été requises pour appuyer les procédures ultérieures.
