Mbalula dépose un recours pour annuler une décision concernant la conférence de l'ANC dans le Cap-Oriental

Le secrétaire général du Congrès national africain, Fikile Mbalula, a déposé une demande auprès de la Haute Cour du Cap-Oriental pour annuler une décision qui avait interrompu la conférence provinciale du parti en mars.

Mbalula a déposé cette demande au motif que la requête initiale présentée au tribunal par des membres mécontents de l'ANC était frauduleuse. Il a déclaré que le groupe n'avait pas épuisé les processus internes de l'ANC avant de saisir la justice.

Un groupe de membres avait invoqué des irrégularités présumées et des différends internes non résolus pour tenter de suspendre la conférence. Le tribunal avait statué en leur faveur, entraînant l'arrêt de l'événement.

Une équipe provinciale spéciale (Provincial Task Team) a été nommée dans la province suite à l'expiration du mandat du Comité exécutif provincial.
