Mbalula beantragt Aufhebung des Urteils zur ANC-Konferenz im Ostkap

Der Generalsekretär des African National Congress, Fikile Mbalula, hat beim High Court des Ostkaps einen Antrag gestellt, um ein Urteil aufzuheben, das die Provinzialkonferenz der Partei im März gestoppt hatte.

Mbalula reichte den Antrag mit der Begründung ein, dass der ursprüngliche Gerichtsantrag unzufriedener ANC-Mitglieder betrügerisch gewesen sei. Er erklärte, dass die Gruppe nicht alle internen ANC-Verfahren ausgeschöpft habe, bevor sie sich an das Gericht wandte.

Eine Gruppe von Mitgliedern hatte sich auf mutmaßliche Unregelmäßigkeiten und ungelöste interne Streitigkeiten berufen, als sie versuchten, die Konferenz zu stoppen. Das Gericht entschied zu ihren Gunsten und setzte die Veranstaltung aus.

Nach Ablauf der Amtszeit des Provincial Executive Committee wurde ein Provincial Task Team für die Provinz ernannt.
