Le gouvernement fédéral a soumis au Parlement sa plus importante proposition budgétaire à ce jour le 11 juin 2026. Le plan alloue en moyenne 107 dollars par personne.

Le ministre des Finances, Ahmed Shide, a présenté le plan budgétaire de 2,34 billions de birrs au Parlement le jeudi 11 juin 2026.

Cela équivaut à 107 dollars par personne, soit six fois moins que le Kenya avec 632 dollars, et derrière l'Ouganda avec 488 dollars, la Tanzanie avec 335 dollars et le Burundi avec 156 dollars.

Le budget couvre une population importante où le pouvoir de dépense publique individuel demeure modeste.
