YNW Melly, de son vrai nom Jamell Demons, s'est vu refuser pour la deuxième fois une mise en liberté sous caution dans le cadre de son affaire de double meurtre, qui subit de nombreux retards. Le juge Martin Fein a statué le 6 mai que le rappeur devait rester derrière les barreaux en attendant son nouveau procès.

Demons a passé plus de sept ans incarcéré sans obtenir de verdict. Ses avocats, Drew Findling et Carey Haughwout, ont déclaré que le tribunal aurait dû s'inquiéter des preuves faisant état de conditions inhumaines, notamment trois années passées en isolement alors qu'il est présumé innocent. Ils ont décrit ce traitement comme cruel et extrême et ont exprimé leur indignation face aux conditions imposées.
