Il Belgio negozia la nazionalizzazione delle proprie centrali nucleari con Engie

Il governo belga ed Engie hanno annunciato giovedì l'avvio di trattative esclusive affinché lo Stato belga acquisisca tutte le attività nucleari di Engie in Belgio. L'obiettivo è il rilancio dell'energia nucleare nel Paese. Questo accordo pone fine al coinvolgimento di Engie nel settore nucleare.

Il governo belga e il gruppo francese Engie hanno annunciato il 30 aprile 2026 l'avvio di trattative esclusive. Lo Stato belga prevede di acquisire tutte le attività nucleari di Engie situate oltre Quiévrain, vale a dire in Belgio.

"Questa iniziativa riflette la decisione strategica del governo belga di assumere la proprietà diretta degli asset nucleari del Paese, in linea con l'ambizione di prolungare l'operatività dei reattori nucleari esistenti e di sviluppare nuove capacità nucleari in Belgio", confermano i due partner in una nota congiunta.

L'operazione mira esplicitamente al rilancio dell'energia nucleare nel Paese, in un momento in cui l'Europa assiste a una ripresa di questa fonte energetica nel contesto delle crisi energetiche. L'accordo chiude definitivamente la storia di Engie nel settore nucleare.
