Bélgica negocia la nacionalización de sus plantas nucleares con Engie

El Gobierno belga y Engie anunciaron este jueves que inician negociaciones exclusivas para que el Estado belga adquiera todos los activos nucleares de Engie en Bélgica. El objetivo es relanzar la energía nuclear en el país. Este acuerdo pone fin a la participación de Engie en la energía nuclear.

El Gobierno belga y el grupo francés Engie anunciaron el 30 de abril de 2026 que inician negociaciones exclusivas. El Estado belga planea adquirir todos los activos nucleares de Engie situados más allá de Quiévrain, es decir, en Bélgica.

"Esta iniciativa refleja la decisión estratégica del Gobierno belga de asumir la propiedad directa de los activos nucleares del país, en línea con su ambición de extender la operación de los reactores nucleares existentes y desarrollar nuevas capacidades nucleares en Bélgica", confirman los dos socios en un comunicado conjunto.

La operación tiene como objetivo explícito relanzar la energía nuclear en el país, mientras Europa vive un renacimiento de esta energía en medio de crisis energéticas. Esto pone fin definitivamente a la historia de Engie en el sector nuclear.
