L'ex responsabile dell'aerodinamica della FIA, Jason Somerville, ha iniziato ufficialmente il suo nuovo incarico nel team di Formula 1 Alpine dopo aver completato sei mesi di gardening leave.

Somerville ricopre la posizione appena creata di vice direttore tecnico e risponde al responsabile tecnico David Sanchez. Ad Alpine ritrova il managing director Steve Nielsen, con cui ha lavorato in passato presso la FIA e la direzione della F1. Somerville ha ricoperto il ruolo di responsabile aerodinamico della FIA da febbraio 2022 e ha contribuito allo sviluppo dei regolamenti del 2026 prima della sua partenza.
