Mercedes-Benz's 2026 CLA marks a shift toward more conventional electric vehicle design, moving away from the unconventional shapes of earlier models like the EQS and EQE. Built on a new modular architecture that supports both electric and future hybrid powertrains, the CLA debuts with a battery-electric version emphasizing efficiency and accessibility.
The base CLA 250+ model employs a single rear-wheel-drive motor producing 268 horsepower and 247 lb-ft of torque, achieving 0-60 mph in 6.6 seconds and a top speed of 130 mph. Its 85 kWh battery delivers up to 374 miles of range, aided by a low drag coefficient of 0.21 and wheel sizes from 17 to 19 inches.
