XLIM teams up with HOKA for Mafate Speed 2 collaboration

Seoul-based label XLIM has announced its first collaboration with HOKA, reworking the Mafate Speed 2 sneaker in all-black and Yves Klein blue colorways. The shoes will launch on April 18, 2026, at XLIM's stores and website. The design mixes tactical features with minimalist style.

XLIM, a South Korean fashion label, is expanding its footwear lineup with this debut partnership on HOKA's Mafate Speed 2. Following a recent tie-up with New Balance, the collaboration introduces high-contrast options: a stealthy all-black version and a vibrant cobalt blue inspired by artist Yves Klein. Designer Dohee Kim added hairy suede details and a subtle XLIM logo on the lateral toe for a distinctive touch. HOKA's model retains its tech elements, including intricate synthetic overlays and a sculptural midsole built for trail-to-street versatility. The Mafate Speed 2 emphasizes function alongside form. It features Vibram Mega-Grip outsoles with 5mm-deep treads for rugged terrain, a deep Active Foot frame for support, and a tuned Meta-Rocker to improve gait. These elements make it suitable for both challenging hikes and daily wear. Dohee Kim shared XLIM's design philosophy in Hypebeast Magazine 35. “Rather than simply following external trends or focusing on aesthetics, we wanted to design practical clothing that brings a new kind of joy and experience to those who wear it,” he said. He added, “This approach gives people a natural opportunity to blend function and style in their everyday lives. To support this vision, we develop our own fabrics, allowing us to create innovative designs from the ground up.” The XLIM x HOKA Mafate Speed 2 drops April 18 exclusively through XLIM's physical stores and online shop.
