アイルランドのシンガーソングライターEvieBが最新シングル「Living in a Standstill」を公開、2月25日リリース予定。この曲は特に創造的な活動における停滞と不確実性の感情を探求する。音楽一家のバックグラウンドを活かし、EvieBはこの感情的に響くリリースで新進キャリアを築き続けている。
EvieB、本名Eve Buckleyは、芸術に深く関わる家族の影響を受け、音楽に囲まれて育った。父の著名なサックス奏者Richie Buckleyは、Van Morrison、Bob Dylan、The Cranberries、Christy Moore、Sinéad O’Connorらと共演した。祖父Philip O’Brienは高く評価されたピアニストだった。この家系が彼女のソングライティングを形成し、Stevie Nicks、Bob Dylan、Joni Mitchellらの影響を受けたストーリーテリングと感情の深みを重視している。 新シングル「Living in a Standstill」は、ルーチンに囚われ人生の方向性を疑問視する感覚を探求する。EvieBは説明する：「the song explores the feeling of being stuck in a rut, of questioning progress and direction in life. It speaks particularly to the uncertainty of pursuing a career in the creative industry, where the future can feel unpredictable and security hard to grasp. The track was inspired by conversations I’ve had with people across all ages and professions, which revealed just how universal this sense of unease and stagnation is.」 長年のコラボレーターでプロデューサーのJohn Reynolds（Sinéad O’Connor、Peter Gabriel、U2と仕事した）と録音され、シングルは彼女のサウンドにレトロソウルの雰囲気を加える。EvieBはこれまでMary Black、Mundy、Mary Coughlanらのアイルランド音楽レジェンドのサポートをし、Sharon Shannon、Cait O’Riordan、Camille O’Sullivanとステージを共にした。Hot Press、RTÉ、Ireland AM、Beta Da Silva、2FM、the 6 O’Clock Showなどのメディアから支持されている。 このリリースは2024年3月のデビューシングル「Out of the Light」、同年後半の「Fading on Me」、2025年の「Atlantic Way」に続く。これら3曲すべてがTVサウンドトラックに採用された。EvieBは今後一連のリリースを予定し、今年後半にデビューアルバムを出す予定だ。
