岩手県大槌町で23日、水曜日に2カ所で山火事が発生し、地方当局が1000人以上の住民に避難を呼びかけた。死傷者は報告されていない。乾燥した空気と強風が火災を悪化させた。
岩手県大槌町の小槌地区で午後1時50分頃、山火事が発生し、複数の建物と周辺の森林に広がった。警察によると、約10キロ離れた霧切地区でも午後に別の火災が発生したという。
当局は霧切地区近くの566世帯1077人に避難を勧告し、自衛隊の支援を要請した。一方、県は午後4時に災害対策本部を設置し、災害対策ヘリコプターなどで消火活動を展開している。
大槌署から約8キロ北西の現場では、少なくとも5つの構造物が焼失し、火は森林に広がり続けている。盛岡地方気象台は同日、大槌を含む沿岸部に乾燥注意報と強風注意報を発表していた。
避難した61歳の女性は体育館で、「2カ所で火災が発生したことに驚いている。家の様子が心配だ」と語った。死傷者の報告はない。
