에디 유 웨이만 총재는 잠재적인 시장 조정에 대비해 은행들이 강력한 자본 완충 장치와 리스크 관리를 유지해야 한다고 당부했다. 그는 AI 부문의 부채 증가와 상업적 수익성에 대한 불확실성에서 비롯되는 위험을 강조했다.
또한 유 총재는 당국이 향후 위안화 국제화 확대에 집중할 것이라고 밝혔다. 그는 시장 침체가 인플레이션 우려를 높이는 지정학적 사건들과 동시에 발생할 경우 위험이 누적될 가능성을 지적했다.
지난 3월, 구글은 양자 컴퓨터가 2029년까지 일부 암호화 시스템을 해킹할 수 있다고 경고한 바 있다. 이에 유 총재는 데이터 보호와 금융 안정을 위한 준비를 촉구했다.
