랜드뱅크(LandBank)와 두 곳의 민간 은행이 디지털 자금 이체 수수료를 면제함에 따라 대통령궁은 더 많은 은행이 이에 동참하기를 희망한다고 밝혔다.
클레어 카스트로 대통령궁 공보 담당관은 마르코스 대통령의 지시에 따라 랜드뱅크가 이체 수수료를 인하하고 특정 개인 대 정부 간 거래에 대한 편의 수수료를 폐지했다고 전했다.
카스트로 담당관은 언론 브리핑에서 "국민에게 도움이 될 수 있도록 모든 은행이 랜드뱅크의 사례를 따르기를 바란다"고 말했다.
랜드뱅크 외에도 필리핀 제도은행(Bank of the Philippine Islands)과 리잘 상업은행(Rizal Commercial Banking Corp.) 또한 자금 이체 수수료를 면제했다.
대통령궁의 이번 요청은 필리핀 중앙은행(Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas)이 디지털 금융 거래 비용을 낮춰 디지털 금융 이용을 확대하고 금융 포용성을 촉진하려는 움직임 속에서 나왔다.
