지난 8일 오전 서울 지하철 1호선에서 정전이 발생해 열차 운행이 중단되면서 출근객들이 큰 불편을 겪었다.
한국철도공사(KORAIL)에 따르면 정전은 7시 29분쯤 창동역과 신이문역 사이 남쪽 구간에서 발생했다. 이에 따라 도봉산역부터 청량리역까지 남쪽 방향 운행이 중단됐고, 전체 1호선 노선에 지연이 퍼졌다.
전력은 9시 48분에 복구됐으며, 9시 57분부터 해당 구간 운행이 재개됐다. KORAIL은 이후 다른 구간의 열차 간격을 정상화하기 위한 작업을 진행했다.
용산역 등 주요 역에서는 승객들이 몰려 플랫폼과 인근 버스·택시 정류장이 혼잡했다. KORAIL 관계자는 사고 원인을 조사 중이며 운행 정상화를 위해 최선을 다하고 있다고 밝혔다.
