Tim Schafer discusses nine-year kiln development journey

Double Fine creative director Tim Schafer recently played and reflected on Kiln, the pottery-themed multiplayer game that spent nine years in development before launching with five maps.

Kiln puts players in control of spirits who possess customizable pots to compete in teams of four. The goal is to quench the opposing team's kiln by carrying water-filled pots across the map. Pot shapes affect health, carrying capacity, and attack styles, encouraging players to experiment between matches at pottery wheels in the central hub.
