PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk has ensured all its banking services in North Sumatra and West Sumatra are back to normal following floods and landslides. Twelve affected outlets are now fully operational, including 47 ATMs that have been reactivated. The swift recovery utilized satellite connectivity to support customers amid the emergency.

Jakarta – PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk, or BNI, has confirmed that banking services in North Sumatra (Sumut) and West Sumatra (Sumbar) have fully recovered after being impacted by floods and landslides in recent days. BNI Corporate Secretary Okki Rushartomo stated that 12 outlets affected by the floods, located in Medan, Sibolga, and Gunung Sitoli, are now operating normally. Additionally, 47 ATMs that were offline due to water inundation have been reactivated.

Okki emphasized BNI's commitment to remaining available for the community during emergencies. "We want to ensure that the public can still access financial services even in disaster conditions, because the continuity of financial transactions is very important for daily needs," Okki said in his statement on Thursday, December 4, 2025.

The recovery process involved swift measures, including the deployment of global satellite internet services at several outlets to maintain smooth customer transactions. Satellite connectivity support was implemented at outlets in Gunung Sitoli, Sibolga, Pandan, and Teluk Dalam, enabling optimal banking operations.

As an additional effort, BNI opened limited operational services for flood victims. These services began on November 29, 2025, at BNI KC Gunung Sitoli, followed by November 30, 2025, at BNI KC Sibolga and BNI KCP Pandan, to meet urgent transaction needs. BNI will continue monitoring the situation and preparing further steps to maintain service stability, especially in emergencies where financial access is vital for customers.
