Svea Court of Appeal has increased prison sentences for two men from Hedemora convicted of gross money laundering. The men must now pay 1.8 million kronor in damages.
Two men from Hedemora were convicted earlier this year by Falu District Court of gross money laundering. They had bought a company for one krona via Marketplace and used it to handle proceeds from frauds.
Svea Court of Appeal has now toughened the District Court verdict and ordered longer prison sentences. The men must also pay 1.8 million kronor in damages to the affected companies.
The ruling follows the laundering of fraud proceeds through the company. Svea Court of Appeal confirmed the offense was gross.
