Deputado abre processo criminal contra o administrador municipal de eThekwini

O deputado do ActionSA, Alan Beesley, abriu um processo criminal contra o administrador municipal de eThekwini, Musa Mbhele, após uma disputa sobre relatórios desaparecidos da SIU referentes às finanças municipais.

O caso foi registrado na delegacia central da Cidade do Cabo esta semana, após uma discussão acalorada durante uma reunião da Scopa em 20 de maio.

Beesley acusou Mbhele de mentir ao dizer que não recebeu um relatório da SIU de 2023 sobre vendas suspeitas de terrenos em eThekwini. A Presidência confirmou por escrito que o relatório e as recomendações foram enviados a Mbhele em agosto de 2023.

Mbhele negou ter visto o relatório e afirmou que sua equipe não o havia recebido. Beesley observou que mentir ao Parlamento acarreta uma pena de até três anos de prisão.

O relatório da SIU recomendou incluir diversas empresas em uma lista negra e encaminhou quatro casos para medidas disciplinares. Beesley destacou a questão mais ampla das conclusões da SIU que permanecem sem solução em todo o governo.
