Pacitan earthquake briefly halts train operations in Semarang

"We are currently in the monitoring and data collection phase. Initial information confirms reports of building damage," said Erwin Andriatmoko, Head of BPBD Pacitan Operations. The halt followed tremors felt by drivers, followed by inspections of tracks, bridges, and signaling systems lasting about one hour. Operations resumed normally at 02:16 WIB.

"Every potential risk must be ensured safe before train services resume," stated Luqman Arif, KAI Daop 4 Semarang's Public Relations Manager. KAI apologized for the delays and emphasized its commitment to safety. The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) warned of possible aftershocks.
