The Philippine weather bureau on Tuesday said it is tracking two low-pressure areas that are not expected to develop into tropical cyclones or bring direct effects to the country.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) reported on Tuesday that one low-pressure area is the former Tropical Depression Caloy, which weakened inside the Philippine Area of Responsibility.

Weather specialist Veronica Torres said Caloy is unlikely to redevelop into a storm and will not cause direct effects on any part of the country.

A second low-pressure area was located 1,680 to 1,690 kilometers east of northeastern Mindanao outside PAR as of early Tuesday.

Torres added that this system is also not expected to enter PAR or intensify into a tropical cyclone.

Prevailing easterlies will bring generally fair weather with isolated afternoon thunderstorms across the archipelago, Pagasa said.

Tropical Depression Caloy is forecast to weaken into a low pressure area on Monday, the state weather bureau said. The cyclone remains weak with maximum winds of 45 kilometers per hour as it moves west-northwestward over the Philippine Sea.

The low-pressure area inside the Philippine area of responsibility will not directly affect the landmass and is unlikely to redevelop into a tropical cyclone, the state weather bureau said on Saturday.

The low pressure area formerly known as Tropical Cyclone Caloy is forecast to weaken and dissipate over the Philippine Sea by Friday or Saturday without affecting the country.

Following Monday's conditions, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said the Intertropical Convergence Zone, easterlies, and localized thunderstorms will bring rains across the country on Tuesday.

Parts of Luzon and the Visayas are experiencing rainy conditions on Wednesday due to the southwest monsoon enhanced by Typhoon Francisco, according to the state weather bureau.

The southwest monsoon or habagat is expected to weaken further over the long weekend for Independence Day on June 12, pointing to fairer weather across much of the Philippines, according to PAGASA.
