A special sub-inspector of Alangayam Police Station in Tirupathur district was arrested by the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption on Monday after allegedly accepting a ₹5,000 bribe. The complainant was a motorist involved in a road accident case.
Ramakrishnan, the special sub-inspector, allegedly demanded the money from Manjunathan of Ambur to send the vehicle for inspection by the Motor Vehicle Inspector and to release the complainant on station bail.
