Villages minister Yandri warns MBG kitchen partners not to violate rules

Indonesia's Minister for Villages and Underdeveloped Regions, Yandri Susanto, warned that the central government will impose strict sanctions on partners of the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) program who violate rules. He made the statement during a visit to a Nutritious Fulfillment Service Unit (SPPG) in Padang Pariaman Regency on Friday (3 April 2026). The MBG program is described as a state mandate that must be strictly supervised.

Minister Yandri stated that the central government will impose sanctions such as operational suspension or contract termination on MBG kitchen partners who compromise food quality, inflate budgets, or violate standard operating procedures. "There are indeed some things we suggested earlier. Now we can't mess around anymore. Because it is President Prabowo's strategic national program that we must all safeguard together. So kitchen partners must not play around with the existing rules," he said in a press release on Saturday (4 April 2026).

The MBG program is not a business project or social media content but a state mandate. The government is working to improve quality through stricter operational standards across all SPPG units. Currently, more than two thousand SPPG kitchens have been suspended for failing to meet technical and operational requirements, in line with President Prabowo's directives.

"Now, more than two thousand SPPG kitchens have been banned or suspended. So the government is not messing around. Because this concerns the livelihood of many people, the safety of our children, grandchildren, pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, and the elderly," Yandri added.

During the visit to Padang Pariaman, he also inspected a Koperasi Desa Merah Putih (KDMP) under construction and launched the kick-off of the Village League at Sirambang Village Field, Pariaman Utara Subdistrict.
