Chef-driven sandwich shop opens inside Grandville brewery

Chuck N’ Monkey’s, a new sandwich shop led by chef Cody Clements, has opened within Oakestown Brewing in Grandville. The spot replaces the previous pizza vendor and offers creative handheld options paired with the brewery’s beers. It debuted last week at 4051 Chicago Drive.

Oakestown Brewing, which launched on Chicago Drive in 2023, previously featured Crust 54 as its in-house pizza provider. Earlier this year, Crust 54 owner Matt Klaus decided to shutter the Grandville outlet, citing a desire to concentrate on his other ventures and more family time. Crust 54 continues operations at its downtown Holland site.

In its place, Chuck N’ Monkey’s has taken over the kitchen, bringing a menu of inventive sandwiches designed to complement Oakestown’s taproom selections. The brewery’s owners have welcomed the addition, noting that it provides a carefully curated lineup ideal for enjoying alongside a pint. Diners can opt for the daily soup or dive into signatures such as pastrami, Korean sloppy joe, fried beef bologna, crispy pork shoulder, or eggplant varieties.

One highlighted item is the chicken cutlet Caesar, featuring romaine, roasted garlic grapes, Caesar dressing, tomato jam, and crispy chicken on a hoagie roll. Accompaniments include waffle fries, sweet and spicy slaw, and a rotating soup of the day.

The sandwich shop operates Tuesday through Thursday from 4 to 8:30 p.m., and Friday through Saturday from noon to 8:30 p.m. It remains closed on Mondays.
