QED Coffee prepares to open third location in Burien

QED Coffee, a Seattle-based roaster, is set to launch its third cafe in Burien at Three Tree Point. The new spot will offer coffee drinks, light snacks, and eventually beer and wine, while welcoming families and dogs. An official opening date has not yet been announced.

QED Coffee, owned by Matt Greenfield and founded in 2015, draws its name from the Latin phrase 'Quod Erat Demonstrandum,' meaning 'that which was to be demonstrated.' The independent small-batch roaster already operates locations in West Seattle and Mount Baker Ridge. Its latest venture is at 16957 Maplewild Ave. SW in Burien, part of the Three Tree Point area.

The cafe's social media post expressed enthusiasm: “We are excited to be a part of this community and can’t wait to meet all of our new friends and neighbors.” It will feature ample outdoor seating and cozy indoor areas surrounded by greenery, suitable for colder months. The space is designed to accommodate families and dogs alike.

On the menu, customers can expect classic coffee drinks alongside light snacks. The roaster's lineup includes 'The Elements,' a classic diner blend with smoky and dark chocolate notes; 'The Median,' a medium roast featuring caramelized sugar flavors; 'The Decaf,' which offers malty sweetness with hints of molasses, shortbread, and gingersnap; and 'The Axiom,' a light roast with bright, sweet notes. QED Coffee is currently securing a liquor license to add beer and wine options.

The shop held a meet-and-greet event in February to build anticipation. Updates on the official opening can be found on the QED Coffee website, Instagram, and Facebook. This expansion continues the brand's growth in the Seattle region.
