Sega avtäcker Sonic-staty med dna i en Chaos Emerald

Sega har skapat en staty i naturlig storlek av Sonic the Hedgehog som innehåller karaktärens dna inuti en Chaos Emerald. Projektet markerar spelseriens 35-årsjubileum.

Sega avtäckte statyn som en del av jubileumsfirandet. Den har utvecklats i samarbete med Transeeds, ett vetenskapskollektiv bestående av konstnärer, ingenjörer och forskare.

Dna-materialet presenteras genom ett inneslutningssystem som påminner om bärnstenen i Jurassic Park. Transeeds har tidigare skapat en icke-funktionell återskapning av T-viruset från Resident Evil.

Statyn planeras att ställas ut på Sega Store Tokyo den 23 juni. Sega beskrev dna-innehållet med termer som Sonic BIOS och Emerald Vision.
