Boots Riley says Cannes rejected his latest film

Boots Riley stated that Cannes rejected his new film I Love Boosters along with several of his prior projects. The director shared the comments on X after being asked about his choice to premiere the movie at SXSW instead.

Riley wrote that Cannes turned down I Love Boosters as well as his 2018 feature Sorry To Bother You and the comedy series I’m a Virgo. He noted that the festival selected The Idol over I’m a Virgo and chose other titles that had screened in their home country while passing on his work. “They just don’t like my stuff. All good,” he added in the post.
