The southwest monsoon, known as Habagat, will bring cloudy skies and intermittent rain showers to much of the Philippines on Tuesday, July 28, according to the state weather bureau.
Weather specialist Veronica Torres of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon can expect partly cloudy to cloudy skies, with isolated thunderstorms likely in the afternoon until evening.
The southwest monsoon may also bring scattered rains over the Ilocos Region, Zambales, and Bataan. The southern portions of Luzon are affected by the Habagat.
Meanwhile, the western parts of Visayas and Mindanao may experience the effects of the easterlies. These winds may bring cloudy skies with scattered rains over Eastern Visayas, Caraga, and Davao Region.
Torres noted that the southwest monsoon may weaken by Wednesday and is likely to affect fewer areas.
