High Court dismisses TVETA objection against KIM operations

The High Court has dismissed an objection by the Technical and Vocational Education and Training Authority seeking to halt operations at the Kenya Institute of Management.

Hundreds of KIM students received relief after the ruling on July 10. The decision follows an April High Court order that certified the institute's judicial review application as urgent and suspended TVETA's revocation of accreditation.

In a notice issued on July 9, KIM stated that the High Court dismissed TVETA's objection. The institute said it would continue operating under existing court orders while the case proceeds.

TVETA had revoked KIM's accreditation on April 20 and ordered closure of campuses. It accused the institute of offering programmes without accreditation and said certificates issued after 2018 would not be recognised. Students and the Consumers Federation of Kenya had raised concerns over disrupted studies and other setbacks.
