Kaunti ya Kakamega inasaini makubaliano ya kati ya serikali kusimamia bursaries na scholarships

Serikali ya kaunti ya Kakamega imethibitisha kuingia katika ushirikiano wa kati ya serikali na serikali ya taifa ili kuwezesha utoaji wa bursaries na scholarships. Gavana Fernandes Barasa alisema makubaliano yalitiwa saini tarehe 19 Mei 2025 na yalikuja kuwa na nguvu tarehe 1 Juni 2025. Makubaliano haya yanatoa mfumo wa uhamisho mdogo wa vipengele vya kazi ya elimu kutoka serikali ya taifa hadi kaunti kwa madhumuni ya bursaries na scholarships.

Kulingana na tangazo la gazeti la tarehe 16 Januari, Gavana wa Kaunti ya Kakamega, Fernandes Barasa, alitangaza kuwa serikali ya kaunti ilisaini makubaliano haya na Wizara ya Elimu ya serikali ya taifa. Makubaliano yanafunika shule za msingi, elimu maalum, sekondari, vyuo vikuu na taasisi za juu. Lengo lao ni kukuza uwazi na uwajibikaji katika usimamizi wa bursaries na scholarships, pamoja na kushiriki rasilimali kati ya serikali za kaunti na taifa katika sekta ya elimu.

"Inatangazwa kwa taarifa ya umma kwa ujumla kwamba kulingana na vifungu vya Kifungu 187 cha Katiba ya Kenya, sehemu za 6, 34, na 36 za Sheria ya Serikali za Kaunti, sehemu ya 26 ya Sheria ya Mahusiano ya Kati ya Serikali, Serikali ya Taifa kupitia Wizara ya Elimu na Serikali ya Kaunti ya Kakamega wameingia katika makubaliano ya ushirikiano wa kati ya serikali," tangazo lalisema.

Makubaliano yanaweza kubadilishwa wakati wowote kwa ridhaa ya pande zote mbili, na mabadiliko haya yakiwa ya maandishi na yaweze kutumika mara tu yanapotekelezwa. Nakala asilia zinaweza kuonekana katika makao makuu ya Wizara ya Elimu na ofisi ya Wakili wa Kaunti ya Kakamega.

Tangazo hili linakuja wiki tatu baada ya Gavana wa Mombasa, Abdulswamad Sheriff, kuthibitisha kusaini makubaliano sawa, yaliyotangazwa tarehe 6 Februari. Gavana huyo alisema makubaliano yalitiwa saini tarehe 15 Januari na lengo lao ni kukuza ushirikiano wa rasilimali katika utoaji wa huduma za elimu na kutoa fursa sawa kwa elimu bora na pamoja.
